One week down...

So I have been back on course for a week now and have lost 6 pounds and exercised 4 out of 7 days. Not bad for 1) someone who HATES exercise and 2) someone who loves food.
Weekends always seem to be hardest for me. I did manage to get on the treadmill today and walk 3 miles in 45 minutes. Not sure if that is good or bad, but it's movement and that is important.

When I got off the treadmill I really felt like I had my treadmill legs back after not exercising for over a month. Guess we'll find out when I get on the treadmill tomorrow. As I was working out today I thought I should get a picture of it, so I called Kenn who was in the other room, and asked him to snap a few pictures. UGH!!! What a sight. But I decided to post one of the shots to show I actually do get on the treadmill and I REALLY DO HATE IT!!

Have I mentioned that once I hit my next 25 pound mark I am getting a tattoo? Well, I have wanted one for a long time now, and decided to use it as another form of motivation for me to lose 25 pounds. Not sure what my last 25 pound reward will be, but I will figure that out once I get closer to the goal. For now.....it's hurdle one.

A New Start

So, I have decided to take on blogging. I journal on a semi-regular basis, but have decided to begin the blogging aspect. It is my hope that by blogging, I will not only get down my thoughts and feelings, but maybe just maybe get back on track with my quest to lose 100 pounds.
I have hit a stumbling block for the past year and I really need to get back on track. I will be happier, I know and I will definitely be healthier.

My goal is to update my weight loss journey at least weekly, if not daily and also to keep track of random thoughts, emotions and epiphanies during the course of my day/week.

I want to have accountability by those who follow my blog, and also maybe learn more about myself as I take on the challenges and discoveries.

This picture of me was taken in 11/06 and was probably me at my heaviest. I weighed in at 259 pounds. I started Weight Watchers July 2007 and lost 60 pounds in 9 months. I felt better, I looked diffferent and people who hadn't seen me in a while didn't recognize me at first.

In April 2008 I kind of got side tracked. My Mother-in-law died, my dog got sick and had to have major surgery and we had got hit with taxes for the first time. I lost focus and balance and began to fall back into old habits. That is when I realized that I was truly an emotional eater and that not all things had been put behind me like I thought.

Here it is June 2009 and I have been yo-yoing for months. I have good months, where I lose a pounds, and I have bad months where I gain several pounds. I use to exercise 4-6 days a week and as of today, I haven't exercised in at least a month and I currently weigh 211. I had gotten below the 200 mark and vowed NEVER to hit it again. But here I am 211 and fearful of gaining all and more of the weight back.

Thus the blogging. I have the best success when I put myself out here, no matter how uncomfortable I get. And I am full of hope and determination to get down to 160.

The new phase of my journey begins now.....
